Alabama Concussion Law |
|
Alabama became the 21st state with a concussion law. Under the provisions of this law, all athletes and their parents/guardians must read and sign a concussion information sheet. All coaches are required to complete a concussion training and certification course. |

“In the 2010-11 school year, at least 156 AHSAA football players suffered a concussion, according to a survey by the governing body. But 199 schools — roughly half of the AHSAA’s football programs — didn’t respond, so the actual number is probably at least double.” Source: "Concussion legislation a good start," Jeff Roper, 6 July 2011 |
