Striper Position

A striper player is anyone designated to play only offensive line (not including TE) or defensive line.  The maximum amount of stripers a team can have on the field at one time is five (5).  At no time may a striper advance the football.  If a striper gains possession of the football, the play will immediately be blown dead.  Stripers are not allowed on the kick off team; however, they are allowed on the front line of the receiving team.  All striper players must be defined no later than the last pre-season  weigh-in and will be designated as such on the final team roster.  Once a player is designated a striper, that player will remain a striper for the remainder of the season.  Each striper player will receive an SEYFL numbered sticker.  This numbered sticker is to be on the striper player’s helmet for all games.  EXCEPTIONS:  a) Players over the maximum ball carrier weight for each team may punt, and kick extra points and field goals.  b) No player over the maximum ball carrier weight may line up beyond 15 yards of the ball on the kick-off receiving team.  c) No defensive player over the ball carrier weight limit may receive (punt, field goals, or extra point) that goes beyond the Line of Scrimmage (LOS), nor may he receive the ball by hand-off, lateral, or backward pass during the play.  VIOLATION:   15 Yard Penalty.
